Uilleann pipes and Kilts
Irish families sometimes have family members who are in pipe bands. So it’s not unusual for them be asked at a wedding to pipe for the ceremony or at dinner. Popular tunes are the Highland Fling and the Stack of Barley, as well as other jigs, reels and hornpipes. Not only do they sound good, they look good too. Most pipers wear Celtic kilts. These are the plaid skirts that their ancestors wore in medieval times and are often linked to a particular family name.
